So why is confidence so important?

Confidence is important for one main reason…. it’s SEXY!  Confidence is attractive and magnetic.  Think about film, tv or rock stars, or people you know around you, who might not meet the traditional stereotype of ‘good-looking’ but who are so comfortable in their own skin that it shines out of them and makes everyone else light up as well.

If confidence doesn’t come naturally to you then I’d like you to remember one main thing – it’s not really about you….

A confident person enables OTHER PEOPLE to feel comfortable, so to increase your own confidence follow these THREE straight-forward steps:

  1. Listen. An arrogant or ‘self-important’ person makes conversations all about them “I’ve done this… “I’ve done that….” I’m great because….” – true self-confidence enables you to share the attention with others and listen to them.
  2. MAKE ME FEEL IMPORTANT – this is the invisible sentence tattooed on everyone’s forehead. Focus on finding out about the ‘wants and needs’ of other people and you will feel more confident about yourself, remember the important details they say and you will stand out to them and come across as more confident in their eyes.
  3. Use your body language:
    • keep your shoulders and hips directed towards the person you are talking to (even if you’re on a video call) to show you are paying attention to them
    • use gentle eye-contact and keep your chin up and shoulders down, this is a confident posture
    • nod and say “mmm” “yes” to let them know you are listening.
    • Speak slowly - show confidence and belief in what you are saying by taking your time
    • keep your hands still, confident people don’t play with their hair or watch, or bite their nails.

Keep listening to your self-hypnosis recording and I wish you ultimate success on your confidence journey.
