I want you to be selfish!
The word selfish has come to mean doing something for yourself at the detriment of other people, but it doesn’t have to mean that, so if you prefer, call it self-FULL.
If you think of yourself as a cup full of energy, you give that energy out to your work, your family, your friends, your community, and if you’re not careful, you are suddenly trying to pour from an empty cup.
When you hit empty you cannot give anything to anyone, and having been there myself, and seeing many clients who have reached that point, it is definitely time that we re-claim the word selfish and make it about being self-FULL.
YOU are the expert in filling yourself up, only you can really know what being filled up with energy means for you and how you can be at your best so that you can give your best to others.
How can you be SELF-FULL? If I asked you to write a list of 10 things right now that fill you up, what would be on that list? I want you to actually write that list and put it somewhere you will see every day and make the things on it a priority. Remember, no-one can pour from an empty cup.
